Teacher of Physics

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual with a degree in Physics or a related field. The key qualities we value are a passion for the subject, creativity, and a genuine desire to foster scientific curiosity in young minds.

Salary: £25,706 - £38,751 Dependant on experience and qualifications 

Location: Seevic Campus, Benfleet, Essex 

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks

JOB OVERVIEW

Due to unprecedented growth in our academic provision at USP College, we are looking for a passionate Teacher of Physics, to deliver to our students at the Seevic Campus or potentially across the campuses including Palmers Campus. We are looking forward to receiving applications from teachers that can deliver high quality, creative and engaging lessons, with a career focus, to support and inspire our students. We deliver across A-level, BTEC and T-level exams and strive for success by challenging, supporting, inspiring and working closely with our excellent learners.

As a prospective member of the Medical, Technology and Science team at USP College, you will work alongside other industry experts and passionate teachers. We also have a team of technicians who assist us in preparing the experimental work for the learners to discover through. You will also be part of the wider Academic team at USP, where we promote life long learning. Our CPD offer engages teachers in Supported experiments and Peer development of ideas as well as having specially trained TIP team who help staff to always be engaging with research in the education field. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, to observe and share best practice on a regular basis, developing pedagogy through reflection.

Encouraging students to explore a wide breadth of potential careers and develop skills that enable them to progress onto HE and embark on exciting careers in the scientific field. You will be able to use your expertise and emotional intelligence to unlock barriers to your students’ progress and provide the tools, support and challenge they need to go forwards.  JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A good relevant Honours Degree or H.E qualification, within a scientific field
  • Desirable: a Teaching Qualification and QTLS (or Qualified Teacher Status) , if not held willingness to embark upon a Teacher training qualification funded through the College.
  • Experienced industry-based individuals will also be considered for the role if willing to undertake appropriate training.
