The ABC Level 2 Certificate in Essential Skills for Further Study in Health Science Professions is aimed at learners who wish to pursue a career in one of the health science professions which require academic study at university, but who are not yet ready to study at Level 3.
What will I study?
You will need to achieve 25 credits, made up from a variety of units. The units selected will vary, but will be made up of Biology and Chemistry based skills including laboratory work.
How will I be taught and assessed?
The units will be taught and assessed by a variety of tasks which learners will complete and build into a portfolio of work as their learning progresses. These may include essays, reports, experiments, tests, presentations or research projects in order to give learners experience of the range of methods that will be used to assess their performance when they progress to the Access to HE course.
What could I do next?
Typical progression routes after this qualification include the Access to Higher Education Diploma, before then going to university or completing a Higher Apprenticeship.
