Course overview

The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance has been designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress into higher education, conservatoire training or into employment in the creative industries. 

This qualification will provide you with an opportunity to stretch and refine your practical skills levels while defining your personal interests and area of expertise. The qualification is suitable for students who intend to pursue a career in the creative arts.

It will allow you to explore, develop and test your creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition into either higher-level training or employment.

This course is free for learners aged 16-18. If you are aged 19 or over on 1 September in the academic year during which you wish to start the course, the fee is £2,200.

How will I be taught and assessed?

  • Practical project and performance-based work
  • Coursework will be assessed through the presentation of outcomes.

What could I do next?

Students completing this UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in will have the skills and understanding needed to progress to Employment/Self-employment or Higher education.

The qualification will support you to develop a portfolio of work, enabling you to progress to Higher Education courses or conservatoires.

Entry requirements 

You will need a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.

It is recommended that students have GCSE grade 4/C or above, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification, in both English and Maths.
