A former student of Ormiston River Academy, George Griffiths was scouted whilst playing a game in Southend and he is now off to play for Durban Sharks Rugby Academy in South Africa for three months before starting university.

A former student of The Gateway Academy, Thomas Charles is going on to university to study Biomedical Science.

“I chose the college as it had the course that I wanted to do and it is local to me. It also gave me a chance to learn in an environment that was quite different to school, which I really like.”

A former student of Gable Hall School, Sophie Bourne is going on to university to continue her studies in Performing Arts and to continue working towards a career in the West End.

A former student of The Billericay School, Hayden Keleher is now working in IT as a Second Line Engineer for the NHS.

“I really enjoyed the Business course, especially the second year which included a more practical aspect to the course with the ‘Young Enterprise’ scheme, through which I received Student of the Year for. I also liked the working environment compared to school as you could work at your own pace.”

A former student of De La Salle School, Oliver Parsons has taken a break from work as an Architectural Recruitment Consultant for Hinton Spencer and is now travelling around New Zealand and Australia, but will be returning to this position on his return.

“I loved my course as I could express my personality freely through the work I created, whilst still working to a brief. I have had some fantastic experiences, from trips to London and Berlin to creating window displays for shops on Rayleigh and Hadleigh High Street.”

A former student of Belfairs Academy, Beth Braun is now working as a Sales Negotiator at Rona/Hair & Son Estate Agents in Wickford. The role allows her to incorporate the design skills she learnt on her course to create advertising material.

“I chose to study at the Seevic Campus due to the location and accessibility of the college and because it offered the course I wanted to do. My course has given me an insight into the industry and my chosen career path. I also went on a cabin crew day with the college which was a real hands on experience of emergency situations in the aircraft.”

A former student of Fitzwimarc School, Becky Wiggins is now working in the airline industry.

“I’ve really enjoyed learning how to care for animals, especially those that I have never experienced before such as snakes and tarantulas! The teachers are so helpful and encouraging and the atmosphere is always relaxed.”
