Jake left our Palmer’s Campus in 2011 and graduated with an LLB from the University of Essex in 2014. Jake was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in July 2017 before completing his LLM at UCL in 2019. He is now excited to be starting his next journey as a Pupil Barrister.
Jake had this to say about his journey to achieving pupillage:
“Years of hard work and grafting have led me to this moment, it has been a tough process but I’ve finally achieved pupillage!
I also want to say this, I am from a working-class background, I was the first in my family to go to university. I had no contacts in the legal profession when I started LLB and I did not go to an elite university. Yet, despite that, I made it to the Bar. So if you are in a similar position, please do not get downhearted – keep pushing and keep persevering. It is possible.”
