No, from 1 June there will be more online lessons taking place. Progress Reviews will take place between 22 June - 7 July for all students who are returning next year. This is where both students and staff will have the opportunity to do this in college or online. It will be entirely up to the individual on how this happens. Small groups of students may be invited in for practical lessons but again this will be on a voluntary basis. Our Estates team have been working hard to ensure both campuses are safe.
It is highly unlikely due to teaching unions, however it is an announcement that would come from the government.
There currently could be three scenarios, we are not yet sure which one it will be so we are planning for all of the below.
Scenario 1 - The virus has gone and it will be business as usual
Scenario 2 - The virus is still here and we will continue with online learning but 1/5 of students will be in College and the others working online.
Scenario 3 - All students will continue with online learning.
We have invested in PPE for both staff and students and online learning will be improved with new platforms being introduced.
Grades will be available on 20 August but you will not collect them from the College. Instructions regarding how you will receive the grades will be given by Ofqual.
We have purchased PPE for staff and students if they want to use it, it will remain optional unless the government state it is mandatory. There may be a small charge.
Lanyards will still have to be worn at all times when on campus, we may ask students to remove their masks if necessary.
