USP College Lead the Way on Latest Teaching and Learning Technologies

Introducing immersive learning to other institutions

Principal & CEO Dan Pearson recently hosted USP College’s second Immersive Teaching & Learning Open Day where he and the Director of Education Improvement, James Parker, introduced guests from a number of other Colleges the benefits of using the latest technologies.

The day included a presentation by Dan Pearson, who shared the evolution of the platform from idea through to delivery, followed by an ‘Immersive classroom experience’ by James Parker, so guests could truly see it from a student’s perspective.

College’s in attendance included North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, Preston’s College, University College Isle of Mann, Highlands College, Lewisham College, Barking and Dagenham, and many more.

Immersive Classrooms are the latest learning technology, and encourage active engagement in lessons as students use interactive boards and simultaneously communicate in classrooms cross-campus.

USP College are the first in the local area to introduce this technology and are encouraging other educational institutions to follow suit by hosting open days to showcase the benefits.

Dan Pearson said “We are very proud to be the first in Essex to offer this technology to our students, and we’re seeing the benefits of the immersive classrooms already, thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of both our students’ and teachers”.

James Parker said “The possibilities for use of the room are endless. Learners' first impressions are usually excitement and awe. We have used the room for multi campus teaching and to enhance the learner experience through immersive technology. Teaching and Learning continues to thrive and move forward and with the growth of our immersive network this will expand further”.
