Entry Requirements

Each of our courses have general entry requirements, some even have additional entry requirements.

The following table outlines the general entry requirements of our 16-18 provisions, please see individual course listings for specifics.

Up to age 25

There are no formal qualifications required for this programme. It is designed for young people with a recognised learning difficulty and/or disability who have been in receipt of an Educational Statement. 19+ learners will need an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP).

A minimum of Entry Level 1 English and Maths, as well as an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP).

Vocational Studies

Grade E/2 or above in GCSE English Language and Maths.

Traineeships

Twelve weeks

There are no formal qualifications required.

Twelve weeks

There are no formal qualifications required.

PROFESSIONAL      

Level 2

BTEC/CACHE/

OCR/UAL

One year

At least four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English Language or Maths. At least one GCSE needs to be at grade C/4 or above.

Level 2

AAT Accounting

One year

AAT Foundation or four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including GCSE English Language and Maths.

Level 3

BTEC/CACHE/OCR/

UAL

Two years

At least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language or Maths. If your English Language is a D/3, your Maths must be at least a C/4 and vice versa

or

A Level 2 BTEC Diploma or above and GCSE English Language or Maths at grade C/4 or above.

ACADEMIC      

Level 3

A-Levels

Two years

Average point score* of 4.5 or above, calculated from all GCSE subjects. Your point score MUST include at least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above - including English Language or Maths.

If your English Language is a D/3, your Maths must be at least a C/4 and vice versa.

APPRENTICESHIPS      

Level 2

Apprenticeships

One to two years

Grade C/4 or above in either GCSE English Language, English Literature or Maths. If your English is a D/3, your Maths must be at least a C/4 and vice versa. If you do not have the required grades in one of the mentioned subjects, you may be able to take them at Functional Skills level alongside your Apprenticeship.

Level 3

Apprenticeships

One to two years

Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English Language or Literature and Maths.

Level 4

Apprenticeships

One to two years

Successful completion of a relevant Level 3 qualification
