Job Summary: 

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Recruitment Business Partner to lead our end-to-end recruitment process and drive innovative strategies that attract, engage, and retain top talent.

In this role, you will work closely with hiring managers across the College to understand recruitment needs, identify skills gaps, and design effective campaigns. From writing job profiles and adverts, through to shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding, you’ll manage the full recruitment lifecycle.

You will also take ownership of developing and implementing regional and national recruitment strategies that reflect our values, promote our unique strengths, and ensure safeguarding and equality remain at the heart of everything we do.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Resourcing & Recruitment

  • Lead the College’s recruitment strategy, promoting the College brand and values.
  • Work with hiring managers to understand role requirements and deliver tailored recruitment campaigns.
  • Write engaging job descriptions, person specifications, and adverts.
  • Manage online advertising across job boards and social media channels.
  • Source, shortlist, and interview candidates using a variety of tools and methods.
  • Organise and deliver assessment centres where appropriate.
  • Manage agency relationships, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality services.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide advice, training, and coaching to hiring managers on recruitment best practice.
  • Liaise with managers, candidates, and agencies to ensure a professional and seamless process.
  • Support induction and probation processes for new staff.
  • Build strong external networks to establish talent pipelines, including apprenticeships and local partnerships.

Process & Compliance

  • Manage all recruitment requests and processes across curriculum and business support teams.
  • Ensure compliance with recruitment legislation, safeguarding, GDPR, and college policies.
  • Oversee pre-employment checks, references, and compliance documentation.
  • Produce management reports on staff turnover, recruitment activity, and key metrics.

General

  • Actively promote the College’s commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding, and health & safety.
  • Contribute to wider HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

 

About You :

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in recruitment at a senior level.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing recruitment strategies.

Desirable

  • Certificate in HR (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge or experience of the education sector.
