We are seeking a proactive and learner-focused Success Coach to join our team. You will play a key role in improving student progress, attendance, retention and achievement by delivering targeted support, interventions and personalised coaching. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting learners and would suit an individual looking to develop a career in education or progress into teaching in the future.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To improve student outcomes through close monitoring of performance data, targeted interventions, and personalised coaching to remove barriers, raise achievement, and ensure students remain engaged, motivated and on track to achieve.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Delivery

  • Monitor attendance, progress and assessment completion using college data systems.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to support academic development.
  • Support students with developing study skills, resilience, and wider meta-skills.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with curriculum teams and Student Services.
  • Escalate safeguarding or wellbeing concerns in line with college procedures.
  • Communicate with parents/carers where appropriate to support learner progress.
  • Apply trauma-informed practice to ensure inclusive and equitable support for priority learners.
  • Provide mentoring and focused coaching for disadvantaged learners including Looked After Children and those in receipt of Free School Meals.
  • Actively contribute to Progression, Achievement and Development Review weeks.

General

  • Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within all aspects of the role.
  • Champion and role model the College values and behaviours.
  • Uphold and embed safeguarding, including PREVENT, as a shared responsibility across all areas.
  • Support occasional evening, day or weekend duties where required.
  • Take part in staff CPD days and ongoing development.
  • Comply with all college policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Participate in performance appraisal activities and contribute to continuous improvement.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Educated to at least Level 3.
  • GCSE English & Maths Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Strong team working skills with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse student cohort and parents/carers.
  • Confident with digital tools and platforms and able to utilise technology (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini etc) to enhance learner support, feedback and engagement.
  • Positive, resilient, learner-focused approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
