USP College, Seevic Campus in Castle Point, Essex, proudly hosted its annual Student Awards Ceremony, celebrating the achievements, ambition, and dedication of over 40 students across a range of disciplines. The event, hosted in the College’s new Immersive Theatre, brought together students, staff, family members, community leaders, sponsors, and VIP guests to recognise those who have gone above and beyond during their time at college.
Students were recognised in categories including Collaboration Champion, Employability Excellence, Innovation Award, Outstanding Achiever, and the prestigious Student of the Year award. Each category highlighted different aspects of the college’s core values – from industry engagement and creativity to perseverance and leadership.
The evening was generously supported by sponsors, including:
- Gold Sponsor: Pro Mech HVAC Services Ltd
- Silver Sponsors: University of Essex and Seymour House
- Bronze Sponsor: University of Essex
Special thanks were also extended to Nina for sponsoring two accounting awards, and Jed and Linda Brooks from the Rotary Club, who supported Business students throughout the year with leadership development.
The College was honoured to welcome Deputy Mayor of Castle Point, Cllr Kate Knott, her consort Cllr John Knott, and the Youth Mayor. One of the highlights of the evening was the return of USP College alumnus Connor Cameron, who delivered a moving talk about his journey – from starting on a pathways course to recently being accepted for a PhD programme.
Award winners represented a wide variety of subject areas and future ambitions. Here’s what some of them had to say:
Receiving this award means a lot to me—it's a reminder that hard work, even in silence, is seen.
Without the support of my teacher Claire, I wouldn’t have applied for my job with the ambulance service. Her ambition and dedication truly changed my life.
I am grateful to the College for allowing me the opportunity to complete work experience with London Met Police as I would like to go into the Police Force for a career
The Awards Ceremony was a true celebration of student growth – not just academically, but personally and professionally. From securing full-time jobs and university placements to building confidence through volunteering, CPD Days, and work experience, the evening underscored the transformative journey students undertake at USP College.
