Job Details

We are looking for an experienced, organised and passionate Deputy Head of ALS & Inclusion to support the delivery of outstanding Additional Learning Support provision across the College.

Working closely with the Head of ALS & Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in the operational management of our ALS services, ensuring learners receive timely, effective and high-quality support that enables them to thrive, achieve and progress.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner or manager looking to develop their leadership career while making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and adults with additional needs.

The Role:

As Deputy Head of ALS & Inclusion, you will lead the day-to-day operation of Additional Learning Support across the College and be responsible for ensuring support provision is effectively planned, coordinated, and delivered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the daily delivery of ALS provision across curriculum areas.
  • Supporting EHCP annual reviews and contributing to statutory processes.
  • Working collaboratively with curriculum teams to promote inclusive teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Supporting the implementation of exam access arrangements and ensuring operational compliance with deadlines and procedures.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for parents, carers and external professionals.

About You:

Essential:
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience of working within SEND or Additional Learning Support in Further Education, education or a related sector.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice.
  • Experience supporting learners with EHCPs and additional learning needs.

Desirable:

  • SEND-specific qualifications.
  • Certificate in Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements (or equivalent)
