The T level in  Animal Management is designed for learners who are passionate about working with animals, benefiting those interested in careers in veterinary practices, zoos, animal care facilities, or rescue centres. The course combines practical animal care skills with academic knowledge, covering animal health and welfare, husbandry techniques, business skills, and specialist pathways like veterinary support or wildlife management. Students gain real-world experience through a mandatory 315-hour industry placement, preparing them for immediate employment in animal care roles or progression to higher education in veterinary science and related fields.

What could I do next?

After completing the City & Guilds Animal Care and Management T Level, students can pursue direct employment as animal care workers, veterinary assistants,  animal care specialists, kennel assistants, or animal health technicians. Alternatively, they can progress to higher education, with the T Level providing university entry qualifications equivalent to A Levels for degrees in veterinary nursing, animal behaviour, wildlife management, or related fields. Students may also pursue specialised career paths such as marine animal trainer, zoo curator, wildlife biologist, conservation specialist, or aquarium technician or enter apprenticeships and further training programs that build on their T Level foundation to develop expertise in specific areas of animal care and management.
