This course will give learners the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of, and skills in, the health and social care sector and enthuse learners to make an informed choice about a career in the health and social care sector, or in a related sector where knowledge of health and social care will be of use, such as early years.
What will I study?
You will develop practical skills in caring, effective methods of communication, how to meet individual needs and how to promote the rights of service users.
We will encourage you to take responsibility for your own learning. This will help prepare you for further study or for progression to direct employment in the health or social care environment.

Additional costs
All students require a satisfactory DBS check. A DBS currently costs £54 and you will be required to pay for this.

What could I do next?
The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Health and Social Care provides the knowledge, understanding and skills for level 2 learners to:
Progress to other Level 2 vocational qualification
Progress to Level 3 vocational qualifications, such as BTEC Nationals, specifically the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care or the Level 3 in Early Years
Gain employment within the health and social care sector, in due course, such as junior roles, or as an apprentice.
