This course is for learners who have an interest in performing or production arts - including acting, dance, musical theatre, or backstage roles - and want to develop their skills through a practical, hands‑on programme. It is suited to students who enjoy creative, collaborative work and are looking to progress into our level 3 Performing & Production Arts programme.
Students will explore a wide range of performance and production skills. You will develop acting techniques for both stage and screen, learning how to approach character, voice, movement and script work in different performance settings. You will also gain hands‑on experience in key production roles, including directing, costume, lighting and sound, helping you understand how all areas of theatre come together.
Alongside this, you will build strong practical skills in dance, taking part in classes in jazz, contemporary and musical theatre. You’ll also develop basic singing for musical theatre, supporting your confidence and versatility as an all‑round performer. Across the year, these elements combine to give you a solid foundation in both performance and backstage practice.
· The course is assignment & Performance based and continuously assessed; you will construct a comprehensive portfolio for each assignment.
· Final Major Project, this is externally assessed and will form the basis of your final show.

Additional information
You may be asked to attend an audition as part of the interview process.
Performance outfit – black t-shirt, leggings and plimsolls. You will also be expected to attend relevant performances.
