You’ll develop scientific knowledge alongside practical laboratory, investigative and analytical skills. Learn how to work safely, use scientific equipment, carry out practical procedures, analyse data and communicate scientific conclusions clearly.
Equivalent in size to one A Level, this qualification is designed to be studied alongside other Level 3 subjects. It can support progression to university, a higher-level apprenticeship or employment in a science-related field.
Unit 1: Principles and Applications of Biology
Explore biological cells, tissues and molecules and develop your understanding of important biological processes and their applications.
Unit 2: Principles and Applications of Chemistry
Study the fundamental principles behind atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions and the properties and uses of different substances.
Unit 3: Principles and Applications of Physics
Explore important principles of physics and how they’re applied in scientific, industrial and technological settings.
Unit 4: Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques
Develop the practical skills needed to work safely and accurately in a laboratory. You’ll select and use equipment, follow scientific procedures, record results and evaluate the quality of your work.
