Digital Systems & Data is a new Level 3 V Level designed for students who want to build a broad understanding of how digital systems, data and technology shape modern organisations and society.

You’ll explore how digital systems are designed, used and managed, and how data is collected, stored, analysed and used to support decisions.

The course will help you develop practical digital skills alongside the confidence to investigate problems, interpret information and communicate solutions clearly.

This is a flexible course. You can study it alongside other Level 3 qualifications, including A Levels and approved V Levels, allowing you to create a programme that matches your interests and future goals. It is particularly well suited to students who are interested in technology, computing, data, business, science or digital innovation but want a broader route than a full T Level.

The qualification will support progression into higher education, higher technical qualifications, apprenticeships and digital careers.

What will I study?

You’ll develop knowledge and skills in areas such as:

  • Digital systems and how they are used in organisations and everyday life
  • Data collection, storage, management and analysis

How will the student be taught and assessed?

You’ll learn through a mix of practical activities, projects, research, discussion, demonstrations and independent study. You’ll use digital tools and work with realistic scenarios that reflect how technology and data are used in the workplace.

V Levels will combine applied learning with practical assessment, helping you show both what you know and how you can use it.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including a Science subject and either English Language or Mathematics.
