Business Administrator Apprenticeship

The Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship is designed for individuals who want to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to support the smooth and efficient running of modern organisations. Suitable for both new and existing employees, the programme combines workplace learning with structured training, enabling apprentices to develop highly transferable business administration skills that can be applied across the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Apprentices will learn how to support business operations, communicate effectively with stakeholders, manage information and contribute to organisational success while earning a salary and gaining valuable workplace experience.

What will I study?

The Business Administrator Apprenticeship develops a broad range of professional and technical skills required in administrative and business support roles.

Throughout the programme, apprentices will develop an understanding of:

  • Organisational structures, objectives and business operations
  • Business communication, both written and verbal
  • Managing stakeholders, customers and suppliers
  • Business policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Data protection, health and safety, and relevant legislation
  • Business finances, project management and change management
  • Record keeping, document production and information management
  • Using digital technologies and business software effectively
  • Time management, prioritisation and problem-solving
  • Working collaboratively across teams and departments

Apprentices will learn how to develop, implement, maintain and improve administrative processes and services while supporting a range of business functions. They will build confidence in using business systems, analysing information, managing workloads and communicating professionally with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.

Modules

USP College uses Pearson as the End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) for this apprenticeship.

At the end of the programme, apprentices will complete an independent End-Point Assessment consisting of:

  • A Knowledge Test
  • A Project Presentation with Questions and Answers
  • A Portfolio-Based Interview

The End-Point Assessment is designed to enable apprentices to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout their apprenticeship and achieve an overall grade of Pass or Distinction.

Entry requirements

Applicants should:

  • Be employed in a suitable business administration role
  • Have the support of their employer to undertake the apprenticeship
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing their professional skills
  • Hold GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above, or be willing to work towards the required Level 2 qualifications where applicable
