As a result of extensive research, we know what employers are looking for. We have a good understanding of the kinds of jobs that are out there at a local and national level and our professional development days are designed to ensure that when you leave USP College you are work-ready.
Our professional development days will give you the communication, IT and soft skills needed to work with lots of different people and the confidence to adapt to any work environment and a work-ready attitude.
You’ll gain these soft skills through a variety of professional development days, meaningful work experience or volunteering, talks from employers, trips and working on live briefs through your College Company.
The professional development days have been great opportunities to develop as an individual and network with industry professionals.
I have been to the Financial Institute in London, including viewing the Royal Exchange and the Museum of the Bank of England. I really feel that College has prepared me for the world of work.
I have really enjoyed my time at College and have gained a lot of valuable skills and information from the professional development days, such as how to present myself at interviews and how to write a personal statement for university.
I also took part in the Voluntary Service programme, during which time I worked with the College’s marketing team. This was really beneficial as I am going on to Durham University to study Marketing.
