Student's Dedication to Mental Health

Emma Huntingford, who is a current student at Palmer’s Campus, has taken her compassionate characteristics to become a Youth Champion at the charity Mind. Emma's future career aspiration is to become a Mental Health Practitioner. Here is what she had to say about why she chose to volunteer.
I’m a Youth Champion volunteer at the charity Mind. This role appealed to me because it means I am actively making a difference; hosting events in the community and learning new knowledge and skills relevant to my career aspiration as a Mental Health Practitioner.
I was told about the role by Yasmin who works within the Wellbeing Team at USP College. I learned that networking with like-minded people leads to sharing great ideas and opens up new opportunities.
I applied for this placement as I wanted a commitment outside of college life, but I didn’t feel ready for paid employment. So this is a great opportunity that fits my lifestyle, yet still has a positive impact on other young people.
