USP College joins Good For Me Good For FE

USP College is proud to announce that the College will be giving support to the FE sector’s community action initiative called Good for Me Good for FE.

With over 100 colleges signed up, the campaign is striving to generate £1 million in social value through a long term, sustainable programme of community wealth and encouraging volunteering & fundraising across the country.

The campaign hopes to create community action across the UK while helping to support the wellbeing of FE staff, given the scientifically-proven benefits that volunteering and supporting social causes has on mental health.

Joining a growing number of voluntary and corporate partners supporting the FE sector's campaign, USP College will lend support to the initiative's focus areas, namely:

  • The continuation of Foodbank Friday
  • Encouraging FE staff volunteering activity within and outside college communities
  • Developing corporate and charitable partnerships to sustain long term impact

In a recent statement, the principals leading the campaign, Jo Maher from Loughborough College, Stuart Rimmer from East Coast College and Sam Parrett from London South East Colleges, said:

"We are delighted to see our campaign gaining so much support and traction from so many sectors.

"The FA is a fantastic partner, offering a range of volunteering opportunities for our FE network through BT Playmaker – and demonstrating the scope of activities on offer to people who want to support their communities.

"Many FE staff and students are already giving their time to volunteering and making a difference. Good for Me Good for FE will help us to harness and expand this work – enabling us to demonstrate the very positive contribution FE makes to people's lives."

USP College Principal Dan Pearson said: "USP College is a key part of the local community and broader FE community. Because of this, we want to do what we can to support initiatives such as Good for Me Good for FE and the valuable work they are doing to uplift the community."

In the coming months, USP College will communicate ways in which the College is supporting Good for Me Good for FE. Keep an eye on our social media pages to keep up to date.
